Free Trade Agreement Between Bangladesh And China

The Chinese move has been widely welcomed in the country and is seen as a great diplomatic victory in bilateral relations with China. Commentators and analysts said they were optimistic about bangladesh`s rising exports to China and the continued deepening of economic relations between the two countries, which are already strong. Bangladesh should no longer expect duty- and quota-free access to advanced economies` markets for its exports. Such facilities must now be negotiated with voluntary partners such as China. A free trade agreement with China or another country, including India, which has strong trade relations with Bangladesh, will ensure this possibility. Bangladesh should also seek a free trade agreement with the US and the EU so that it can compete with Asian and African countries in these two markets. The current cooperation between the two countries aims to increase economic exchanges and exchanges, set up key projects in areas such as infrastructure, energy, electricity, transport, information, telecommunications and agriculture, and strengthen practical cooperation within the framework of the BCIM Economic Corridor between Bangladesh, China, India and Myanmar.
